Starlight Trail

This trail, which leads into Meitro Forest, is especially beautiful at sunset and at night, when the stars are out. Many of the animals that live here walk along this trail, either to run into the forest, to gaze at the scenery around them, or to talk with someone.

Silver slowed as he arrived at a what appeared to be a trail. He looked around curiously; there had to have been others here before them if there was a trail like this. The wolf glanced over his shoulder and saw the rest of his new pack, excluding Marline. I wonder where Ashkii went... he pondered, suddenly remembering the large she-wolf. Maybe she would show up later. They were here to hunt right now. Silver lifted his muzzle and began scenting the air, hoping to smell prey. His blue eyes noticed something moving a little ways in the distance almost at the same time as he smelled it. A huge bull elk. Why is he all alone? the young male thought. He inhaled deeply, and was able to faintly smell the scent of sickness as a breeze blew into his face from the animal's direction. Well, that explains it. Silver turned his head to address the others. "We're going to take that one over there" he said in almost a whisper, though the elk wouldn't be able to hear him anyways. Alright...if Neptune can hunt very well, I'll put her with Accirrah...and Yona can come with me then, I guess he decided. "Okay, Neptune, take Accirrah with you, and try and position yourself in front of the elk. Yona, you can run fast right? Come with me, and we'll sneak around behind it and chase it towards the other two" the light grey wolf explained quickly. He waited a moment to see if there were any questions, while keeping an eye on his prey.

-From Hufford Castle

Yona gazed upward as he slowed to a stop. "Ohhhh!~" he exclaimed, "What a pretty sky. It must look great at night!" The strange looking path here appeared to just leap in to the sky. "We're going to take that one over there" he heard Silver whisper.

Yona cocked his head, noticing a huge animal not to far off in the distance. His heart began to pound. "You mean the elk?" he asked, "I've never hunted such large prey before.~ I usually stick to scavenging or rodents." Thinking back, Yona realized he had never ate fresh elk meat. "Okay, Neptune, take Accirrah with you, and try and position yourself in front of the elk. Yona, you can run fast right? Come with me, and we'll sneak around behind it and chase it towards the other two"

Yona nodded, a glint in his eyes. If all he had to do was that, then he would find this easy. Mouth beginning to water, he waited anxiously for Silver to start.

Neptune trotted into probably the most fascinating place she has been so far. Stars. It was something she very much enjoyed. The blue wolf paused to adore the beautiful sky before turning her attention to Silver, just in time to be able to hear what he said clearly. The hunter looked at the elk and then let out a little smirk. 'Alright' She thought and then started to sneak away from the group and position herself to the front of the elk, making sure that she remained hidden at all time. The blue wolf thenwaited for Accirrah come follow along shortly.

As Accirrah entered the area, he looked around with awe, staring at the beautiful horizon. He gazed over at silver, who now seemed to be talking... Hunting? Already? He turned his optics the way his new alpha motioned, noticing the buck standing a little away from the group of wolves. As Silver told him to go with Neptune, the ebony brute gave a quick nod, and was about to trot away with Neptune. But he stopped, and looked back at his fur that gave away a faint glow. He gently layed down, and rolled around in the dirt, covering it with dust and sand. As he got up again, the glow had mostly disappeared. Then he snuck after the female, to position himself in front of the prey as well. Hiding as well as he could out of sight. Now Accirrah just had to wait until the others lured their probable next meal over...

Ashkii came a long way from the garden to the castle and finally to this weird place that had stars already lit and a pathway that seemed to continue and had no end. She groaned a bit as she finally caught up to the group. She watched as they began to get in position but where shall she be? Going with the flow she'll crouch and began to slink away in the distance as her eyes were already pin pointing the position where the buck stood. Awaiting for the hunt to commence she couldn't help glance around this place with curious eyes. She than saw Accirah the male that argued with her and she couldn't help but smirk silently that's until she spotted the other she some what befriended. Ashkii was positioned in a good place just in case the former hunting strategy will fail.

Silver nodded eagerly as Neptune and Accirrah both started to sneak off to their assigned positions. Now it was time for him and Yona to go and give them their excitement. "Let's go" Silver said quietly to his partner, an almost playful smile on his face. As the wolf crouched down and began to stalk towards the elk, he noticed another wolf moving our of the corner of his eye, and it wasn't Yona. Turning his head slightly, he saw it was Ashkii. So she must have just been wandering around he thought. But now, he just hoped that the she-wolf wouldn't mess up his pack's hunt. And much to Silver's relief, Ashkii began silently sneaking into a position. Where it was, he couldn't tell, but that didn't matter.

Silver began to creep around to the back side of the elk, getting closer and closer with each silent paw step. The young wolf was getting slightly impatient, just wanting to suddenly start sprinting towards the animal, but kept himself focused on his plan, and was soon in the position to chase the elk. Silver looked over at Yona, then at in the direction of Neptune and Accirrah. The wolf lifted his tail above the grass as a signal, then immediately sprang forward. The elk noticed Silver in a split second, and began running painfully in the direction of his unfortunate death. Silver let out an excited bark, waiting for the other two to attack the elk, so they could all bring down the majestic animal as a pack.

Yona pawed at the grass excitedly, eager to run. He almost didn't notice Silver's signal to charge, and when he did see it, Yona was confused. Oh wait... I'm supposed to follow. I'm in a pack now.

Giving out an excited bark, Yona burst out of the grass after Silver. He caught up with him shortly, and watched as the elk fearfully ran ahead.

(Well it is a good thing you're back, Ashkii. ;D )

The female couldn't help but watch Silver's move towards the elk. Even so she caught a glimpse of his tail raise as if he was signaling his pack to began the hunt. Ashkii awaited patiently for the elk to come her way but once it began sprinting off she'll slink off in a better position while still remaining hidden form the elks prying eyes. This will give her the advantage to lung at the elk's throat and cut its windpipe clean only to bring it down. She hoped they can run the elk in her direction so she can attack but if not she'll join in and take it down with force.

Neptune watched closely at the actions of the elk. When she saw Silver chasing the elk, Neptune positioned herself almost in a pouncing position. As the elk got closer, Neptune made a serious face and then jumped out of her hiding spot, almost tackling the elk down, but she didn't. Instead, Neptune opened her hungry jaws and snapped them right on the elk. It was pretty slow moving, so for Neptune, she felt it was an easy job.

Accirrah watched with a smile as the two others chased the elk towards Neptune and himself. As he wasn't as experienced with hunting as his packmate, he waited for her to go for the prey first. As she jumped out, and went for the elk, Accirrah noticed that that it stumbled slightly as she bit down on it, so the brute decided that he could easily bring it down with strength and weight if he wanted to. But since Neptune didn't he just jumped out of his hiding place, and ran for the elk, biting down on it's hind legs from the side. The ebony brute put his feet on the ground and tried to make the elk slow down, also by making it mostly unable to use it's leg.

While Neptune was busy chomping on the elk's neck, on the corner of her eye she could see that Accirrah was helping her. Whatever he did slowed the elk down, making Neptune's job a little easier. The blue wolf sinked her teeth in the elk, suffocating it. She felt the elk struggle a little bit until it completely stopped. Neptune let go of their new food and stared at everyone. "Nyu~ Good work!" She grinned.

Silver slowed and came to a halt next to his two other new packmates and the dead elk. "Yeah!" he cheered, proud that his new pack had just brought down their first meal together. In fact, the young leader was so excited that he pointed his muzzle in the air and let out a long howl. When the noise ceased, Silver's blue eyes began looking around for the others. He soon spotted Yona, still running towards them. And wait...there was something else in the grass over there. Suspicious and curious, Silver slowly made his way over to three grey lump of fur. But as he got closer, he realized it was another wolf, and not just any wolf, but Ashkii. "Hey, Ashkii!" he called out to her. "Come over here!" The light grey wolf turned and headed back toward the kill, glancing over his shoulder to see if the she-wolf accepted his invitation.

Noticing the elk has fallen, Ashkii simply left her hiding spot and approached them after Silver's invitation. Closing in on the group she smiled delightfully, she was ready to eat but only until the alpha eats first. "Nice work." she complimented with a toothy grin

Gleefully Yona hopped over the elk carcass as he tried to stop his speed. He turned around and met up with the others as Silver finished the victory howl. "Taking down large prey is much more exciting than hunting smaller animals." he commented. "Perhaps if I were stronger I'd been a Falconer instead.~ ...So what do we do now?"

As the elk Accirrah slowed down, and the pressure around his fangs ceased, he knew the prey was about to go. And soon, the majestic animal fell over in a dead heap. Accirrah stood proud and happy for a moment, glad they were able to catch something together.
Strangely enough, Accirrah found this so amusing he would do it a lot of more times with his new friends. And talking about friends, they were also gathering around their newly caught food. The ebony brute also heard his new leader's howl, and he couldn't help but to smile, and join him until he stopped. But Yona's question was as good as anything. What were they to do now?

Neptune smiled as she took down the elk. But for her, it was definetly one of her easier hunts. The young wolf stared at the now dead elk and then at the group. There were about 5 wolves here. "I think this should be enough to feed us all" she said and stared at the elk once again. "Let's bring it to camp" Neptune said poking the dead elks head with her paw.

Silver turned his head as Neptune arrived beside him. He nodded in agreement with the she-wolf, and lowered his head towards the elk's carcass. He spread his jaws over the animal's neck, and then closed them tight, giving him a strong, firm grip on the pack's meal. "C'mon" he mumbled around the mouthful he had. The new alpha turned and began making his way back towards the camp, slowly dragging the elk along with him.

Neptune stared at her leader silently and nodded her head in agreement to what Silver had said. She didn't say anything while watching Silver drag the big animal by himself, but she did let out a big grin, clearly amused by Silver dragging the prey. "Let's go" She said to the team and happily trotted next to Silver back to the castle, not even bothering to help her leader.

Yona cocked his head to one side. It was impressive how the leaser instinctively took hold of the prey and began dragging it. He would help, but he wouldn't be able to much, so Yona didn't bother. Instead he skipped along gleefully with his pack, and back to their new home.

Accirrah smiled as Silver started to drag the animal they had taken down back towards their new home. The brute looked at the ground for a moment, thinking about what was actually going on. His ebony fur gave away the light it usually did as the dirt and sand started to disappeared from his coat. He didn't quite know if he had made a choice to stay with this newly made pack or not. But the ones that had showed up so far, was one of the friendliest wolves he had met since he left his family.
Accirrah lifted his gaze, wanting to help Silver drag the animal as well, but he was too late, as they were already out of sight. The recruit sighed, and started trotting after them, wondering if everyone had come to the castle by the time his slow butt got there.
